projection clock/outside thermometer : Oregon Scientific BAR339DPA Daylight Weather Projection Clock
I had an older Oregon Scientific digital projection clock, which I loved. It had one feature that I thought this new one would have. It displayed alternately (projected on wall or ceiling) the inside temperature, outside temperature, and time. This new one does not display the inside temperature, but only the outside temperature. In the Winter time, we turn the thermostat down at night time to sleep, and so during the night, the inside temperature drifts down. I wake and like to know what the inside temperature is during the night, as well as outside temperature. It does display on the clock base, but the clock does not project the inside temperature, but only the outside temperature. I would not buy this model again without the projection of both inside and outside temperture. Also, I am having trouble with the outside temperature transmitter reliably being received by the clock base. It is only about 60-70 feet from the base, but there is interference, or something. The outside temperature periodically does display and then at times for a few hours it does not. I have mounted the sensor on the house and did not want to have to move it. My older clock occasionally had this problem, but not to the extent that this new one does. The temperature sensor is off about 3 degrees F from 2 other independent sensors, all in the same place, which bugs me. I have to mentally add the error to the displayed reading when I see it. I would just like something that works well, and is accurate. This one is not terrific, but the clock works fine. It will probably annoy me for years.
